The Holistic Health Practitioner ...

  • recognizes that achieving good health requires a proper diet, fresh clean water, fresh air, sunlight, exercise, and rest.
  • teaches his or her clients how to achieve and sustain good health on a daily basis with herbs, essential oils, homeopathics, and other natural modalities to supplement their healthy lifestyle.
  • understands that each client has a physical, mental, and spiritual self, and that good health requires balance in all areas.
  • recognizes when allopathic health care may be necessary, and is always ready to refer a client to his or her primary care physician for diagnosis and/or treatment.
  • empowers the client to achieve improved health, both today and for the future, through addressing any imbalances caused by improper nutrition, poor quality sleep, insufficient water, lack of exercise, fresh air, and relaxation.
  • educates clients to evaluate their lifestyle choices, to isolate and change any potential causes of ill health.

The Holistic Health Practitioner does not ...

  • Diagnose disease. A holistic health practitioner performs evaluations to determine causes of potential health problems, but they do not diagnose disease. Always refer a client back to his or her licensed physician for a
    diagnosis.
  • Treat disease. A holistic health practitioner focuses on health and education, not on disease, and empowers clients to take charge of their own good health.
  • Prescribe drugs or pharmaceuticals. Holistic health practitioners teach clients about herbs, essential oils, homeopathic remedies, homeobotanical remedies, flower essences, dietary supplements, and nutrition.
  • Perform Invasive Procedures. Depending on his or her training and licensing, a practitioner may use hands on techniques as part of his or her practice. For example, a practitioner may also be trained as a massage therapist, chiropractor, or osteopath, and use natural health modalities along with that discipline; For example, a massage therapist may use an essential oil blend to complement a massage treatment. Existing health care professionals should check with their licensing bodies regarding incorporating their studies into their existing practice. Holistic Health Practitioners do not perform any invasive procedures, give injections, or draw blood.

Summary of Services

Iridology

is both an art and a science that dates back further than Western Medicine into the times of Ancient Egypt. By studying the fibers, patterns and colors of your iris and other parts of the eye, an overall picture of the health of your body‘s tissues and organs can be made. Inflammation, toxins, injuries, circulation, degrees of healing, the under or over functioning of organs and so much more can be seen by the trained Iridologist.

Aromatherapy

is the controlled use of essential oils to promote the health and vitality of the body, mind and spirit by inhalation, baths, compresses, topical application and full-body massage. Now, you might be asking yourself, “What is an essential oil?” Essential oils are the distilled (or sometimes expressed) product of the volatile components synthesized by various plant tissues of a single plant species. It consists of sometimes hundreds of individual biochemical components. (ACHS)

Intuitive View

may be used to assist your healing process. As an intuitive healer, Stephanie can “feel” and “see” opportunities for healing in your subtle energy field. Similar to Reiki, Stephanie is experienced with Reconnective Healing; a hands-off energy healing between the hands. Similar to a guided meditation, she may guide you through breathing and relaxation techniques while “balancing” your energy.

Homeopathy

is actually the 2nd most widely used medicine of the world. It consists of minute doses of substances given to symptomatic people, which stimulates a healing reaction within the body‘s tissues and organs to bring about a curative effect. Therefore, homeopathy is not a permanent supplement but a temporary facilitating substance to remind the body of balance.

Mind, Body, Spirit

takes into consideration the interrelatedness of your mind to your body and to your soul. A recognized field of medicine, called Psychoneuroimmunology, is “a discipline that studies the relationships between psychologic states and the immune response.” (Mosby’s Medical Dictionary, 8th edition. © 2009, Elsevier) Your energetic, or subconscious, patterns greatly affect your physical outcome. By taking into consideration mantras and daily affirmations to bring balance to possible energetic weaknesses, you are able to affect the subtle bodies of your entire being, which act as a catalyst to “allow” change. Without this recognition of the interrelatedness of our thoughts to our body, healing proves quite difficult.

Astrology and Numerology

are tools Stephanie lives by. Stephanie is currently writing a book using Astrology and Numerology as guides for having compassion for ourselves and everyone we meet. In considering your Astrological and Numerological data, she can better communicate with you and best understand the methods to reach you through the way you personally “understand” the world around you.

Holistic Nutrition

is the basis for all health and disease. Eat optimally – feel optimal. Holistic Nutrition considers how foods affect the whole body system. Optimal health comes from a diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods that are closest to nature. Ask not “what should I eat” but “how do I want to feel”. Want to feel “indulgent” – go for the cookie. Want to feel “light and energetic” – have the green smoothie. It‘s all about balance and moderation.

Supplementation

is occasionally suggested, especially during the beginning for therapeutic benefit. Stephanie may recommend a three month regimen followed by a break of one month (or more) to give the body a break and see if you no longer need the extra supplementation. Eventually, all the nutrients you need will be received in food and herbal teas and only occasionally in tinctures, extracts, and supplements. Be sure to notify your primary care provider of all vitamins, minerals, and supplements you take as it is intended to be ‘complimentary care‘.

Interpersonal Counseling

may occur during the initial consultation. Relationships are a HUGE part of your emotional health. Whether the relationship is with your neighbor, coworker, lover, family, or even a stranger; success in relationships contributes or hinders your balance; therefore, your wellness. Using resources such as Blissful Communication; Non-Violent Communication; Love and Logic; and tools from Sacred Commerce, together, you and Stephanie will arrive at optimal methods of communication; healthy detachment; and peaceful, conscious related-ness.
